Balance to the Human System for Optimal Function
Discover "The Way"
Tao of Physical Therapy is a physical therapy and wellness practice based in the Midlands of South Carolina. I am a solo practitioner who treats a large variety of orthopaedic and neurologic conditions. I began this practice as a concierge based service to client's homes during the pandemic in Florida. When the world re-opened, it became apparent that the lack of physical activity during pandemic shutdowns had become detrimental to health, especially for those who already deal with neurodegenerative diseases.
The Mission.. Balance to the Human System for Optimal Function
The "Tao" in Tao of Physical Therapy means "the way." This is a common term used in East Asian martial arts practices, because every form describes a path to mastery. As a long-time martial artist, I find close similarities in the physical therapy practice. As the provider, I am constantly honing my skills to become more effective for my patient/client. I believe physical therapy should never be fully passive. The patient will involved in their recovery and mastery, which ultimately means exercise and practice with repetition and intensity to achieve motor learning. Together, we target each dysfunction to restore balance to the body and mind.
Physical therapy and wellness services at Tao of PT are available for all, regardless of the complexity and body region. I want all patients visiting the office to be in a comfortable and private setting where their time and commitment is valued. During the time we have together, they would learn how powerful they are rather than broken or dysfunctional, and leave the office with the tools to maintain that feeling. I value my own commitment to help people achieve goals and the opportunity to learn and grow together.
Services are rendered on a Fee-For-Service model, allowing for a holistic practice for maximum outcomes, ensuring the relationship is with you and not your insurance company. We can only restore balance by addressing the entire human system. I do not believe that this is a new or alternative approach to Physical Therapy, but it is one that is honest to its roots. Welcome to Tao of Physical Therapy.
